LAKE ROTOKARE

Visiting this local lake and learning about how this predator free area is helping our New Zealand birds and plants was a rewarding experience for all of the children and parents.
As well as the lake visit, the children have been actively involved in helping the monarch butterfly population, with over 40 butterflies hatched this season.

What a great year!

Look at our wonderful school garden. Everyone worked hard to make it look bright and colourful. We won the garden club trophy for our efforts. Well done children!

Pet Day & Flower Show

         Pet Day was FANTASTIC!

We had lots of calves and lambs. We had dogs, cats and kitten and even two piglets on show. There were lots of ribbons, rosettes, trophies, cups and certificates issued. Our classrooms looked and smelt wonderful with all our picture displays and flower arrangements. Thank you everyone for making it such a special day.

A busy and exciting term

The term started with a camp at Rotorua. Some of the things we did were: abseiling, rock climbing, going on the luge, careering down the Big Splash, orienteering, Burma trail, glow worm spotting and lots of hot swims.
Other highlights included designing bird feeders, making lanterns, lots of sport - including basketball and some of us patted a kiwi.
The term ended with watching our stars and planets inside the cosmodome.

Monday 15 April 2013

A highlight of Term 1 has been learning to skate. All 18 children have learnt to skate independently with many children able to jump, crouch and go backwards. Way to go kids!
